BELGRADE, Serbia, July 2 (UPI) -- A Serbian war crimes court handed a 15-year prison sentence to a former Vukovar Defense Force member convicted of war crimes.
Petar Ciric was found guilty of involvement in the slayings of 193 prisoners of war near the eastern Croatian city of Vukovar in 1991, Tanjug news agency reported.

Judge Rastko Popovic told the sentencing hearing Ciric was guilty of beating Croatian prisoners and later shooting and killing them.
The judge read out the names of all 193 people who were killed at Ovcara farm.
The Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office has charged 20 people with the murder of 200 Croat civilians at Ovcara. Of the 20, 15 have been sentenced and five others acquitted.
