ISAF says 33 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

SENAKHJOU, Afghanistan, June 24 (UPI) -- Security forces killed 33 Taliban "enemies" and wounded three during an operation in southern Afghanistan's Urozgan province, military officials said.

The operation was carried out in the Senakhjou, Sarisena and Ghochak villages of Urozgan's Charcheou district, Afghanistan's Bakhtar News Agency reported.

"ANSF [Afghan National Security Forces] kill 33 enemies of Afghanistan in Urozgan province ...," the International Security Assistance Force said on Twitter Monday.

Security forces seized weapons and a large amount of ammunation during the operation, the news agency said.
