Several dead in fiery Bolivia tanker truck crash

LA PAZ, Bolivia, June 23 (UPI) -- The fiery crash of an alcohol-loaded tanker that killed 11 people was blamed on dancers blocking the road, authorities said.

El Diario, El Nacional and Hoy Bolivia reported there were 11 deaths in the multiple crash Friday evening in San Juan de Huancollo, about 62 miles from La Paz. El Diario said another 16 people were injured.

La Razon, which put the death toll at 10 with 19 injured and a dozen vehicles burned, reported police said the tanker driver didn't see the celebration on the road and plowed into a minibus and several other vehicles that were stopped for the dancers.
