Police step up search for Nairobi, Mombasa bombers

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 10 (UPI) -- Police have ramped up the search for those behind the bombings in Mombasa and Kenya's capital of Nairobi in which at least 15 people were hurt, officials say.

The attacks late Sunday occurred less than 2 hours apart in the cities that had seen months of calm, Kenya Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday.

The Mombasa blast, possibly caused by a grenade, occurred in a church compound and injured about a dozen people, police said.

The Nairobi attack took place at a hotel and injured at least three people, authorities said.
