Riots in Sweden enter fourth day

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 23 (UPI) -- A restaurant and police station were burned as rioting in Sweden, in its fourth day, spread to at least 15 suburbs around Stockholm, officials said.

The unrest began Sunday in Husby, northwestern Stockholm, where officials said rioters set cars on fire. Violence spread to Hagsatra as rioters, largely youths, threw stones at police officers and firefighters.

Police said a restaurant in Skogas, southern Stockholm, went up in flames in an act they're calling aggravated arson.

A police station in Ragsved was set on fire as officers tried to escort rioters by bus to other parts of the city, TheLocal.se reported Thursday.

Officials in Husby, where the riots began, said the troubles arose from frustration about the fatal police shooting may 13 of a 69-year-old man in Husby, a largely immigrant area.
