MALMO, Sweden, May 22 (UPI) -- Two women who drugged men they met on Internet dating sites to rob them were sentenced Wednesday in Swedish court to seven years in prison.
Their male accomplices, who acted as drivers, were sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison.
Last May, the four thieves met a man they had contacted through the dating site Badoo.
The women, ages 28 and 33, spiked his coffee. He woke up 6 1/2 hours later and found the women gone and his apartment raided.
"The crime is serious because they put his life in danger by rendering him defenseless," prosecutor Marten Alvinsson wrote in the statement.
Medical experts said the two women used a mix of sedatives and medicines to drug the man and three subsequent victims, The Local.se said.
Two of the victims remained unconscious for more than 24 hours.
