Poll: Two-thirds of Chinese 'not very happy'

BEIJING, May 15 (UPI) -- Two-thirds of Chinese families aren't pleased with their health, interpersonal relationships or social security, a poll released Wednesday indicates.

The China Population Welfare Foundation published the family happiness index and released it at the 20th International Family Day event, which 150 government officials, academics and journalists attended, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported.

Face-to-face surveys were conducted among 9,604 families in 16 cities, involving 22,374 family members.

The surveys were conducted from August to October, the report said.

The CPWF was founded in Beijing in 1987 and works on issues related to population, family planning and human development.
