KABUL, Afghanistan, May 14 (UPI) -- Attacks in provinces in southern and eastern Afghanistan killed three coalition troops and four civilians, officials said.
Three International Security Assistance Force service members died Monday when insurgents attacked their position in southern Afghanistan with a car bomb, the coalition said in a release.
The ISAF, citing policy, said it deferred casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
No other details were provided.
Officials said at least three civilians died and nine others were wounded when a motorcycle bomb detonated in Helmand province in southern Afghanstan Tuesday, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
"An improvised explosive device attached to a motorcycle was detonated through a remote controller in a marketplace near a picnic spot in Safa area of Garmser district ... killing three and wounding nine others," senior provincial police official Mohammad Ismahil Hotak said.
Khaama Press said a civilian was killed and three other people, including two ISAF troops, injured in Afghanistan's eastern Kapisa province Monday.
District governor for Nejrab, Abdul Wadood Haidari said a 14-year-old Afghan boy was killed following the suicide attack.
