The Lebanese officials said flights into Lebanon's airspace by Israeli warplanes and reconnaisance jets have been common and "unusually high" in the past two days, Ynetnews.com reported.

Other Israeli planes were seen over the southern Lebanon towns of Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun, a Lebanese military official said.

"These are simulated attacks the likes of which we have not seen," the official said.

The Daily Star newspaper said eight Israeli planes entered Lebanon airspace within 14 hours.
