SFAX, Tunisia, April 30 (UPI) -- Deposed Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday by a military court, officials say.
He had earlier been convicted in the death of a man and the wounding of two others during the country's 2011 revolution, Shems FM reported.

Rafik Haj Kacem, Ben Ali's former interior minister, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the same crimes.
The court dismissed charges against Ben Ali's former head of presidential security, Ali Seriati, and others who had been indicted.
The family of the dead man, Amor Haddad, and those who were wounded will receive compensation of between $7,500 and $62,200, the court ruled.
