Police say nurses ate client's drug-laced snacks

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 26 (UPI) -- Police in Sweden say they confiscated a man's muffins suspected of being laced with narcotics after nurses treating him became ill after eating the cakes.

Nurses who work with substance abuse were sickened during a house call on a 25-year-old man in Boden in far northern Sweden, TheLocal.se reported Friday.

The man served the nurses coffee, muffins and buns, police said.

After the nursing staff was hospitalized, police said they raided the patient's house Wednesday and confiscated the treats.

The nurses were tested for foreign substances but police spokesman Per Finnberg said results wouldn't be available for a few weeks.
