Park will visit the United States May 5-10, during which time she plans to meet with President Obama.

Yonhap said South Korean had been discussing the visit with Chinese and Japanese officials since an annual summit among the countries was postponed.

South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se will be in Beijing Wednesday, in part to discuss Park's trip to China, officials said. Japanese media reported Yun will visit Tokyo later next week.
