The Jerusalem Post said defendant Nor Hamdan began to plan the attack in February and recruited the four other defendants.

Hamdan allegedly contacted terror organizations in the West Bank and Gaza to receive training and weaponry, the indictment charged.

The suspects also were allegedly planning to abduct a Jewish man, Ynetnews.com said.

The five suspects, ages 20 to 25, have been charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted murder, aiding the enemy at a time of war, contact with a foreign agent and other weapons charges.

Prosecutors are requesting the suspects remain in custody until legal proceedings are complete, Ynetnews.com said.
