ALICANTE, Spain, April 7 (UPI) -- Police said a veterinarian in Spain has been arrested for allegedly cutting his wife's dead body into pieces and incinerating her.
The 46-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, told authorities Friday that he found his wife dead Thursday.
He claimed that his wife died from a drug overdose, and that he tried to revive her, but failed, thinkSPAIN reported.
The man then allegedly chopped up the woman's body, put it into bags and then contacted a company he used to incinerate deceased pets, thinkSPAIN said.
He told the company the bags contained the body of a very large dog, and the employees did not check because the veterinarian is a regular customer.
Authorities said they are investigating whether the man also killed his wife.
