PRETORIA, South Africa, April 4 (UPI) -- Oscar Pistorius, the South African "Blade Runner" charged with killing his girlfriend, is not ready to get back into training, his uncle said Thursday.

Arnold Pistorius issued a news release denying reports that Oscar Pistorius is preparing for qualifying events for the Moscow World Championships, scheduled for August, CNN reported. Arnold Pistorius said his nephew would be the one to make the decision on returning to racing.

"At this point Oscar is still in an extremely traumatized state and has made it clear to all of us that he is not able or willing to even contemplate this issue at this stage," Arnold Pistorius said.

Pistorius, who runs with two prosthetic legs, raced in last year's Olympic Games in London and in the Paralympics. He was charged with murder in February after he shot his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in his home in Pretoria. Pistorius admits killing Steenkamp but says he believed she was an intruder.

Last week, a judge relaxed Pistorius' bail restrictions, allowing him to travel outside South Africa.
