Four sisters are victims of acid attack

LUCKNOW, India, April 3 (UPI) -- Four sisters were injured in northern India when they were sprayed with acid by two men on motorcycles, police said Wednesday.

The girls were returning home from a coaching center in the state of Uttar Pradesh when the attack took place, the Indo-Asian News Service reported.

Police Superintendent Abdul Hamid said the assailants could not be immediately identified because they were wearing helmets.

The victims, all in their 20s, were taken to a local hospital, the Press Trust of India reported.

One of the sisters was critically injured. The other three reported received only minor burns.
