Chainsaw used to cut tusk in museum

PARIS, March 30 (UPI) -- A young man was in custody in Paris Saturday, the day after authorities allege he used a chainsaw to cut off an elephant's tusk in a museum.

Security staff at the Natural History museum called police after hearing a chainsaw Friday night, Radio France International reported.

Police then apprehended a 20-year-old man in a street nearby in the Jardin des Plantes botanical garden with the elephant tusk in his possession.

The chainsaw was found in the museum.
