$3.5M stolen Rembrandt painting recovered

SREMSKA MITROVICA, Serbia, March 12 (UPI) -- Four people were arrested after Serbian police said they located a Rembrandt stolen from City Museum in Novi Sad in 2006.

The Department of Criminal Police and Novi Sad Criminal Police recovered the painting, "Portrait of a Father," created by Rembrandt in 1630, in the town of Sremska Mitrovica, police director Milorad Veljovic told B92.

Experts confirmed the painting is authentic, Radio Television of Serbia reported. The painting is estimated to be worth approximately $3.5 million, B92 reported.
