PRETORIA, South Africa, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee Olympic sprinter, Monday reported to South African corrections authorities as per his bail conditions, his uncle said.

A judge permitted Pistorius to live with family under strict conditions while awaiting trial on charges he shot and killed his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, Feb. 14, the British newspaper The Guardian said Monday. Pistorius has said he thought Steenkamp was an intruder.

Pistorius is living with his uncle, Arnold Pistorius, in the wealthy Pretoria suburb of Waterkloof.

While there he must report to a corrections office twice per week. He cannot return to his own home because it is a crime scene, chief magistrate Desmond Nair said. He cannot consume alcohol, leave the country or contact anyone associated with the victim or the investigation.
