Manila mall jeweler robbed at gunpoint

MANILA, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- A jewelry store in a mall in the Philippines was robbed at gunpoint, prompting momentary panic by shoppers who heard the gunfire, police in Manila said.

Police said F and C Jewelry Store was targeted by a group of men who smashed open the case with a pipe wrench and fired multiple shots to scare people away. Shoppers largely hid in other stores nearby after hearing the gunfire, ABS-CBN News said Saturday.

The robbers got away with an unknown amount of jewelry. Two of their faces were seen on security cameras, though police have yet to make any arrests.
