Drone strikes kill seven in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Two separate drone strikes killed seven people in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region, Geo News reported Tuesday.

The strikes follow three similar drone attacks last Saturday in which at least 12 suspected militants died in South Waziristan.

In the first of the latest attacks, Geo News said three missiles were fired from the unmanned aircraft at a home in Haidar Khel area, killing four people. The second attack, which came shortly after the first, occurred in the Khaso Khel area, where at least three people died, the report said.

The region is believed to be a haven for the Taliban and al-Qaida-linked militants.
