RAMALLAH, West Bank, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Israeli settlers and Palestinians clashed Saturday near the outpost of Esh Kodesh in the West Bank, the Israeli military said.
The military said both sides hurled rocks at each other, Ynetnews reported. One female settler was reported to have suffered minor injuries.
Arutz Sheva, a news agency identified with religious Zionism, depicted the clash as a Palestinian riot. It said 11 settlers were hurt in a battle between about 50 settlers and 250 Palestinians who tore down fences around vineyards in the settlement.
Settlers fired weapons into the air to keep the peace while waiting for the military to arrive, Arutz Sheva said.
The Palestinian Ma'an News Agency, on the other hand, said the settlers invaded the village of Qusra near Nablus, firing into the air. Villagers threw stones in response, Ma'an said.
Residents of Jallud near Ramallah said settlers came into the village Wednesday, broke windows and attacked three people, Ynetnews reported. Ma'an said settlers uprooted olive trees in Qusra and damaged property Tuesday.
