N. Korea's Kim meets with China officials

PYONGYANG, North Korea, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- North Korean and Chinese officials confirmed their commitment to develop cooperative relations during a meeting Friday in Pyongyang, officials said.

State-run media said North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un met with Li Jianguo, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, and other Communist Party officials, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The Chinese delegation presented a letter from China's new leader, Xi Jinping, to Kim during the meeting. The content of the letter wasn't revealed.

North Korean media said Kim expressed hope that China would realize its strategy to build an affluent, socialist society under Xi's guidance.

Both sides also reiterated their "firm policy" to pursue greater development their cooperative ties.
