ATHENS, Greece, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- The large labor unions in Greece announced a strike Tuesday as parliament prepared to vote on structural reforms and spending cuts, Ekathimerini.com reported.
The Greek newspaper website said protests were planned Tuesday and Wednesday in Athens and public transport, including metro, railway, tram, bus and trolley services, would be halted both days.
Air-traffic controllers at Athens International Airport had a three-hour stoppage Tuesday morning, and doctors staged a three-day walk-out scheduled to end Wednesday.
Lawyers began a five-day work stoppage Monday and prosecutors won't return to work until Nov. 18.
Members of Parliament are to vote Wednesday on whether to impose more spending cuts to convince lenders to release more bailout funds.
