Man arrested after shots at Erdogan office

ANKARA, Turkey, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- A man who fired blank shots at the office of the Turkish prime minister Monday has been identified as Nuri Baskapan, officials say.

The man fired three blanks after approaching the rear entrance of the building in Ankara, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

A Cabinet meeting headed by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was in session at the time.

Security forces immediately arrested the man.

A motive for the incident was not known.
