CAIRO, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Attorneys for ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak are asking Cairo's Administrative Court to pardon the country's former leader because of ill health.

Lawyer Mohamed Abdel-Razek said services offered at the prison hospital are not sufficient to deal with his 82-year-old client's medical condition, Ahram Online reported.

The former dictator is serving a life sentence for failing to prevent the deaths of protesters during last year's 18-day uprising.

The court scheduled a hearing Tuesday on the request.
