Trial of Mubarak's sons delayed

CAIRO, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- The trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's sons on charges of stock market manipulation has been postponed until October.

A judge at a hearing Saturday ordered the trial to resume Oct. 7, al-Masry al-Youm reported. Gamaal and Alaa Mubarak deny charges of violating securities and central bank regulations to make an illegal profit.

Gamaal Mubarak called the allegations "lies and slanderous," Ahram Online reported.

The brothers and their father were acquitted of corruption charges in a separate case in June.

Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life imprisonment for failing to prevent the killing of protesters last year during the massive demonstrations that helped bring down his government.
