KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Four people have been killed and 20 others injured in a truck bomb explosion in Afghanistan's Kandahar province, provincial authorities said.
The incident took place late Monday in the southern portion of Kandahar City, Khaama Press reported Tuesday.
Among the injured was provincial security chief Gen. Abdul Razaq who is reported in satisfactory condition.
Authorities said explosives planted inside a tanker truck went off while the general's convoy was crossing the 10th district of Kandahar city.
In Ghazni province, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a funeral Tuesday.
Provincial security chief Gen. Mohammad Hussain told Khaama Press the bomber was the only one killed.
However, witnesses reported two people were injured, a civilian and an Afghan security official.
