Wolf pack wreaks havoc on Bulgarian town

RUDOZEM, Bulgaria, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- A pack of wolves is terrorizing a Bulgarian mountain village by killing more than 70 sheep in just a week, officials said Thursday.

The wolves are attacking the village of Polyana, Rudozem Municipality, in the Rhodope Mountains, Novonite.com reported.

Rudozem Mayor Rumen Pehlivanov has asked the central government to put together a team to track down the wolf pack. The mayor also promised aid to Krasimir Demirev, a local livestock farmer whose sheep made up the majority of those eaten by the wolves.
