KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- A former member of the Afghan Parliament was gunned down Friday afternoon, officials said.
Police said they were trying to identify the gunman who killed Ahmad Khan Mohammadi in Faryab province, Khaama Press reported. A spokesman for the provincial governor said the killing occurred as Khan left a mosque after prayers.

No group, including the Taliban, had claimed responsibility for the shooting.
