BELGRADE, Serbia, July 27 (UPI) -- A coalition government was installed Friday in Serbia with Parliament approving the new cabinet.
Prime Minister Ivica Dacic was to take office later in the day, Tanjug reported. Dacic, who served as deputy prime minister under Mirko Cvetković for the past four years, is leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia.
The vote in Parliament was 142 for and 72 against Dacic's government with 72 abstentions. The alliance is made up of the Serb Progressive Party, the Socialist Party and the United Regions of Serbia.
The oath cabinet members swore includes a commitment to keeping Kosovo, now recognized as a separate country by the United States and a number of other governments, within Serbia.
