Teen dies from 40-hour video game marathon

TAINAN, Taiwan, July 19 (UPI) -- An 18-year-old boy died in Tainan, Taiwan, after playing the video game Diablo 3 for 40 consecutive hours without eating.

The boy, who was identified by his surname Chuang, was found asleep Monday morning in an Internet cafe and collapsed shortly after an attendant woke him up, The Sun reported.

Chuang was pronounced dead soon after being taken to a local hospital. Officials said he possibly suffered from cardiovascular problems caused by sitting for long hours.
