TEL AVIV, Israel, July 13 (UPI) -- Israeli border guards fired at two men trying to breach the Israel-Egypt border, killing one and wounding the other, military officials said Friday.
The incident took place near a part of the border fence that is still being constructed, Ynetnews reported.
The Israeli army was investigating to determine if the two mens -- both identified as residents of the Gaza strip -- were acting as smugglers or terrorists, the news agency said.
The border guard's Mista'arvim -- a counter-terrorism unit -- intercepted the two men, Ynetnews reported.
