SAMSUN, Turkey, July 4 (UPI) -- Heavy rains and flooding near the Black Sea in Turkey have killed nine people, including six children, it was reported Wednesday.
The Mert River in the city of Samsun overflowed its banks and inundated the Canik neighborhood, flooding ground floors of apartment buildings, offices and a hospital, and bridges over the river were closed, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News said Wednesday.
