6.1 quake recorded off Kamchatka

UST'-KAMCHATSK STARYY, Russia, June 23 (UPI) -- A magnitude-6.1 earthquake struck Sunday afternoon off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia, U.S. seismologists said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the temblor occurred at 4:15 p.m. local time at a depth of 10.8 miles. The epicenter was about 98 miles north-northeast of Ust'-Kamchatsk Staryy, 359 miles north-northeast of Yelizovo, 362 miles north-northeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy and 374 miles north-northeast of Vilyuchinsk.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.
