Sudan welcomes expulsion of rebels

KHARTOUM, Sudan, June 4 (UPI) -- Sudanese officials praised South Sudan's decision to expel rebels from its territory following accusations it was supporting militias fighting against Sudan,

Sudan's ruling National Congress Party said in an official statement Sunday it welcomed South Sudan's move against armed militias posted at its northern border.

The NCP has accused South Sudan of supporting rebel groups -- allowing them to set up camps undisturbed and to disrupt peace within Sudan and the South Sudan border states of Darfur, Bahr el Ghazal and Equatroria.
