Suicide bomber kills seven in Afghanistan

SARA BAGH, Afghanistan, June 1 (UPI) -- An explosion set off by a suicide bomber at a NATO base in Afghanistan Friday killed at least seven Afghan civilians, officials said.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast at a base in Sara Bagh in eastern Khost province, Khaama Press reported.

Provincial security chief Mohammad Yaqoob said the total number of casualties was unknown but local officials said at least seven people, all civilians, were killed.
