KUWAIT CITY, May 29 (UPI) -- Members of Kuwait's Parliament, led by Osama al-Munawer, urged the government to help the Free Syrian Army with financial and military support.
Arab Times reported Tuesday lawmakers called on the government to immediately intervene in Syria in light of recent events, stressing Syrians were facing tremendously harsh living conditions.
The Times said al-Munawer proposed the government supervise all donations and arrange delivery to the Free Syrian Army.
Speaker of Parliament Ahmed al-Saadoun said Monday the legislative body is taking steps to halt all relations with the current regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, meaning the end of all bilateral agreements, The Peninsula, an English-language newspaper in Qatar, reported Tuesday.
