Soldier killed by roadside bomb

KABUL, Afghanistan, May 6 (UPI) -- A roadside bomb hit a U.S. military vehicle in eastern Afghanistan Sunday, killing one soldier and injuring two others, officials say.

The blast hit the vehicle about 6 miles south of an outpost in Paktia province, near the Pakistani border, CNN reported.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force initially reported three deaths from the blast Sunday, but later put the toll at one. The victim has not been identified.
