SIMAV, Turkey, April 16 (UPI) -- A 4.8-magnitude earthquake shook western Turkey Monday officials said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The quake struck at 1:10 p.m. local time, with a depth of just over 3 miles, centered at the town of Simav in Kutahya province, Today's Zaman reported.

On May 19 on last year, a 5.9-magnitude quake shook Simav, killing at least two people and injuring more than 122, the report said. After that earthquake, 25,000 of Simav's 69,000 residents lived in tents.
