Mafia links found in 5 Italian towns

ROME, April 7 (UPI) -- The Italian government has dissolved five town councils due to Mafia influence, officials said.

Two city councils in Calabria and three in Campania were dissolved Friday due to Mafia infiltration, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. One, north of Naples, is the home base of the Casalesi crime family.

ANSA said police have recently made a slew of arrests and asset seizures involving the Casalesi family.
