BAGHDAD, Afghanistan, April 7 (UPI) -- At least 30 Afghan police, militants and civilians were killed or injured during three days of violent outbreaks, officials said Saturday.
Three private security guards were killed and another person was injured by one explosion in the Dowamand district in eastern Khost province early Saturday, Khaama Press reported. Two national police officers were injured by a second explosion in the Khatawi area of Gardez in Paktia province.
On Friday night, three Afghan civilians were killed and another civilian was wounded by unknown gunmen in Mehtarlam, Laghman province, provincial officials said.
Ten armed militants were killed and an 11th was injured during eight operations carried out by Afghan national police forces, Afghan Interior Ministry officials said Saturday. The operations took place in Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Kandahar, Helmand and Paktia provinces, the ministry officials added.
Meanwhile, local officials said at least two Afghan civilians were killed and four others injured in military operations in eastern Kapisa province in the past three days, Khaama Press said. The operations came after three security guards of the Tagab district police chief were killed by a roadside bomb.
