Soccer fans protest over stadium riot

TANTA, Egypt, April 5 (UPI) -- Supporters of Egypt's al-Ahly soccer team protested to demand accountability from officials they blame for the deadly Port Said soccer riot.

Hundreds of protesters in Tanta, north of Cairo, chanted Wednesday in front of the Interior Ministry and the military council, accusing officials of complicity in February's stadium violence that left 74 people dead and hundreds injured, al-Masry al-Youm reported..

Protesters in Damanhour carried black flags.

Members of the fan club Ultra Ahlawy also staged protests at the campus of Zagazig University in Zagazig.

In Aswan, protesters called for retribution for those killed in the Port Said massacre as well as for those who died in the Egyptian uprising.
