BELGRADE, Serbia, April 4 (UPI) -- Serbian President Boris Tadic said he is resigning his presidential mandate and will run for re-election in May.

Tadic told reporters he will send an official letter of resignation Thursday to Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Dukic-Dejanovic. She will then call for presidential elections, which will be scheduled for May 6, Radio B92 and Tanjug reported.
