KARAMUNTING, Malaysia, April 1 (UPI) -- A cruise ship arrived in Malaysia Sunday after experiencing a fire in the engine room, the Malaysian coast guard said.
The Azamara Quest and its nearly 1,000 passengers and crew was escorted into Karamunting by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency two days after the fire broke out south of the Philippines.

Five crewmen suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze.
The New Straits Times said diplomats from the United States and Britain had flown to Karamunting to assist their nationals, if necessary.
