Blast topples plant, killing two

WUHAN, China, March 27 (UPI) -- Two people were killed and more than two dozen were injured Tuesday in an explosion that decimated a biopharmaceutical plant in central China, officials said.

Officials said excessive pressure caused a reaction kettle to explode and topple Tuesday afternoon at the Luyuan Biopharmaceutical Plant in Wuhan.

Rescuers told Xinhua many people had to be pulled out from the debris. Twenty-six people were wounded, including two with severe injuries.
