Costumed character busted at Russia march

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, March 25 (UPI) -- A man in a penguin suit was among four suspected troublemakers police said were arrested at an opposition rally in St. Petersburg, Russia, this weekend.

The group was detained because officials suspected they were potential "provocateurs" from the Kremlin youth movement Nasho and refused to move along when police told them to.

Russia's RIA Novosti news agency said the penguin and his three comrades stationed themselves at a metro station that was a gathering place for some of the 1,000 people who marched Saturday to protest allegedly rigged elections.

The four held a banner asking "Hamsters? Penguins? Who are we?" RIA Novosti said "hamster" is a popular nickname for opposition activists.
