Officers ambush Boko Haram members

KANO, Nigeria, March 22 (UPI) -- A firefight broke out in Kano between Joint Task Force officers and members of the Nigerian Islamist extremist group Boko Haram, killing nine, officers say.

Early Wednesday morning, Boko Haram members carried out an attack on Unity Bank, as well as a police officer's home in Tundun-wada town. When JTF officers learned that Boko Haram members would flee to Kano following the attack, they laid an ambush.
