DILI, Timor-Leste, March 19 (UPI) -- Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta, running third in the country's national election, conceded Monday.
Ramos-Horta trailed Francisco Guterres of the Fretilin opposition party and Jose Maria de Vasconcelos, a former army chief, who advance to a runoff in mid-April, Channel News Asia reported.

With 84 percent of the votes counted in Sunday's election, the electoral commission said Guterres unofficially had 28.5 percent to de Vasconcelos' 25.2 percent. Ramos-Horta, who was seeking a second term, had 17.8 percent.
