Two killed in oil convoy attack

FLORENCIA, Colombia, March 13 (UPI) -- Two people have been killed in an attack on a convoy of oil trucks in southern Colombia, an oil company spokesman said.

Witnesses told Colombia Reports that guerrilla fighters blocked a road and ambushed the trucks, killing the driver and another person before military personnel responded to the attack.

Earlier Monday six persons were injured in the department of Caqueta after the rebel group FARC bombed a house.

A teenager died in the neighboring department of Putumayo after stepping on a landmine reportedly planted by guerrillas.

A military commander said the guerrillas are using landmines to protest the government's eradication of illicit crops.
